Sometimes I buy berries with the grand idea of freezing them so I can add them to smoothies, muffins or a dessert crisp. But then I see how exquisite they and want to eat them completely raw and untouched.

Spicy Citrus Blast
I am loving this Vitamin C blast. It is tasty, refreshing and so simple to make. This fresh juice is great after a workout or if are feeling dehydrated, run down, or just need a lift. No need to plug in a fancy juicer either. Just cut and squeeze fresh fruit with a manual juicer. The combination of grapefruit, oranges, and lemons gives the juice a complexity that none of these fruits have when pressed on their own. The heat of Cayenne is a warming spice that is said to support cardiovascular health, suppress appetite, and relieve congestion.
Granolicious: This Granola is Addictive!
I’ve always loved cereal and prided myself on eating the “healthy stuff” like Cheerios and Frosted Mini Wheats (the frosting was the bomb). As I got older, I tried to make healthier choices – or so I thought. I started reading labels more closely and was horrified to learn that my favorite “health cereals were really just sugar in a box!!!! Cereal is marketed as being a healthy breakfast option when in reality it’s a highly processed food that contains large amounts of sugar. This Granolicious granola is a better substitute. It still has some sugar in it, but that’s not the main ingredient.
KIS: Kale Iron Smoothie
If Popeye were around today, he’d ditch the cans of spinach and guzzle a kale smoothie. Why? Because kale is a super food. It’s high in Vitamins A, K and C and rich in nutrients and anti-oxidants that fight disease and aging (yay). It’s also low in fat and calories. So why isn’t everyone eating kale? Because kale tastes green and earthy which takes some getting used to. But if you add kale to this kale iron smoothie, it could begin your love affair with it.
Cheater Chai
I love hot chai lattes especially when it’s cold out and I’m feeling chilled. The warm spices and light sweetness taste healing and comforting. I also like having a warm vegan treat now and then which is hard since I don’t drink coffee and am very sensitive to the effects of caffeine. Most cafe’s and coffee shops don’t offer decaffeinated chai so I make this as a special treat for myself at home.
